Somalia: Puntland Security Forces Capture 3 and Kill 5 Al Shabaab terrorists

14 February 2013


After receiving intelligence information, Puntland carried out a raid on Al Shabaab terrorists’ position in a place called Dhadhabo in the Golis Mountain range of Sanaag region in correspondence of the hilly area between Elayo and Lasqoray.
 
After gunfire exchange between Puntland security forces and terrorists in a difficult terrain, at least 5 terrorists were killed of which two bodies were brought to Bossaso together with 3 other captured alive.
 
The Puntland forces are continuously engaging in security operations with the terrorists in the Golis Mountain Range.
 
On February 12 2013, a suicide car bomber targeted Puntland Deputy Police Commissioner in Galkayo, but he survived receiving only minor injuries in the blast.
