Four people including two Kenyans were on Sunday kidnapped by armed men in Somalia’s restive capital Mogadishu, witnesses said.
The armed masked men on Sunday evening raided a Printing agency called Hamar Ade located in Mogadishu’s Bakara market and abducted the manager and three others including unnamed Kenyan nationals who worked there for years.
“At least 10 masked men armed with pistols entered the centre and went straight to the room of the two Kenyans and removed them out. They also went away with two Somalis,” said an eyewitness.
Witnesses say the gunmen then fled in a white car to undisclosed location. The two Somalis were later released.
It is not yet known the motive behind the abduction and No group has claimed responsibility.
Bakara market is the stronghold of Somalia’s militant group Al-Shabaab, which is fighting the fragile UN-backed Somali transition government.
South Central Somalia, marred by two decades-long civil strife is rated one of the most dangerous zones for foreigners particular aid workers and journalists who are targeted by ransom-hunting gunmen.
