Somalia: Bombing in Las'anod injures young boy

LAS’ANOD, Somalia Oct 23 2012 (Garowe Online) – A young boy and another civilian were wounded in an explosion in the capital of Sool region Las’anod, on Tuesday, Garowe Online reports.  

According to local sources, the explosion was detonated in a southern neighborhood in Las’anod injuring a young boy returning from Quranic School.

Somaliland appointed Sool regional Governor Mohamed Mohamud Ali Gelle stated that after the first explosion that local forces stopped a second explosion in Las’anod.

The perpetrators of the attack and the foiled plot remain unknown and the objective of the attacks remains unclear.    

Local officials speculate the perpetrators of the attack could be linked to Al Shabaab.

Also, breaking news in Las’anod, unconfirmed reports that a journalist working for Universal TV a Somali media-broadcasting corporation, was killed in Las’anod.

Some media outlets in Sool region are reporting that armed gunmen shot and killed Ahmed Sakin Farah in Las’anod, Tuesday night.

Earlier this year a Judge for the Somaliland government Ahmed Aw Mohamud was shot and killed by two men armed with pistols.
