Somalia: Gunmen kill journalist in Mogadishu, then escape

MOGADISHU, Somalia Jan 29, 2012 (Garowe Online) - Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a young journalist in Mogadishu on Saturday, Radio Garowe reports.
Hassan Osman Abdi, popularly nicknamed Hassan Fantastic, 29, was killed on his way home after work and the unknown gunmen escaped, according to local sources.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing, but Mogadishu has been a graveyard for journalists reporting about the war and corruption. International press organizations report that Somalia is the most dangerous country in Africa for journalists to work in.
Hassan Fantastic was director of independent radio station, Radio Shabelle. Over the last three years, three directors of Radio Shabelle including Hassan Fantastic have been killed.
In 2011, Hassan Fantastic worked a stringer for Garowe Online and produced many articles published on Garowe Online website.
