Somalia: Mudug beats Sanaag in nail biter, Sool triumphs over Ayn


GAROWE, Somalia Feb 6 2012 (Garowe Online) – Puntland football games are heating up as the teams are moving closer to semi finals, Radio Garowe reports.

Mudug and Sanaag filed in Mire Aware stadium in Garowe both teams had won their preliminary games.  

The first half of play ended with no goals as both teams couldn’t find the netting. The second half had Mudug striker Isse Mohamed Isse who scored a fantastic goal as Mudug held on to take the win and continue to the next round.

Team Sool and Ayn took the field next as Sool scored 2 early goals in their bout against Ayn. Team Ayn managed to return a goal late in the game but didn’t do much as the whistle blew to end the game 2-1 for Sool.

Nugal and Mudug teams have continued to the next round; Karkaar and Bari will face off as the remaining six teams watch in anticipation as results will affect the remaining teams wait for the outcome.

Bari and Karkaar both need a win to advance but a tie will help Sanaag advance. The preminlary games wrap up with Sool and Sanaag on Tuesday.
