The Norwegian delegation included journalists and was led by Mr. Sven Mollekleiv, president of the Norwegian Red Cross, and the Somalia director of the Red Cross, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan.

The delegation was invited to a presidential dinner at the Puntland State House in Garowe attended by Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole and Vice President Abdisamad Ali Shire.

The Norwegian delegation’s visit to Puntland is aimed at inspecting ongoing projects at more than 40 health centers and at Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, according to Puntland Health Minister Dr. Ali Abdullahi.

Puntland is located in northeastern Somalia, with a population of 3.5million, its own elected government and polices, security forces and a state flag under Somalia’s federal structure.
