Somalia: President Farole returns to Puntland

GAROWE, Somalia Mar 7 2012 (Garowe Online) – Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole and his delegation arrived in Garowe on Wednesday, Radio Garowe reports.

President Farole and his delegation touched down at Garowe International Airport Wednesday afternoon and were welcomed by a big crowd as he returned from the London conference.

Vice President Gen. Abdisamad Ali Shire and speaker of parliament Abdirashid Mohamed Hersi were amongst the crowd that welcomed President Farole and his delegation. Ministers, MPs, military officials, youth groups and women groups were amid the huge crowd that welcomed the president back to Garowe.

President Farole who held a press conference at the presidential palace announced that the Puntland state constitution would be finalized by the end of this month. Farole spoke about the exploration of oil calling the project a working process.

After the press conference Farole and his officials walked to the house of parliament which is under reconstruction.
