The Somali president was received at the Khartoum airport by Sudanese President Al-Bashir and was saluted by a guard of honor.

President Hassan 's official trip to Sudan is part of ongoing trips to East African countries, including recent visits to Kenya, Djibouti, Uganda, and Ethiopia, as all four countries are IGAD member states and have their forces deployed inside Somalia.
