Somalia: Puntland Security Forces arrests Pirates


Security forces from Somalia’s semi-autonomous state  of Puntland arrested seven Somali pirates at Xamxaama village about 80km to Garowe city, the administrative capital of Puntland.
 
Nugal region police commander Abdirahman Abshir Farah told the reporters that the security forces got the intelligence that the pirates crossed Godob-Jiraan district.
 
The commander adds that the police seized five AK47, RPG, one Laptop, six mobile phones, two engines for mother ship, and one vehicle from the suspects.
 
Farah said that they will bring the pirates before the court to face the law.
 
Puntland government led by President Abdirahman Mohammed Farole is fighting with the Pirates since it took over the power. The government has been keenly following the pirate operations, resulting the prosecution of more than 300 people linked with Piracy.
