Somalia: Puntland VP opens new Ministry of Planning building


GAROWE, Somalia July 1 (Garowe Online) - The Vice President of Puntland State government in northern Somalia officially opened a new building for the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Garowe, the capital of Puntland, Radio Garowe reports Wednesday.

Gen. Abdisamad Ali Shire, the Puntland Vice President, said he is very happy to open the new Ministry building.

"I think the Ministry employees and the UNDP for helping with this project," the Vice President said at the ceremony, which was attended by officials including Vice Minister for Planning, Zeinab Ugas Yasin.

The Vice President said that the Puntland government is committed to improving public services and government institutions.

Ms. Zeinab, the Vice Minister for Planning, spoke at the ceremony saying that the Ministry has conducted trainings for government employees.
