Somalia: Tonnes on dead fish wash up on Puntland shore

BOSSASO, Somalia Feb 16 2012 (Garowe Online) - For the second time this year tonnes of dead fish dead fish have washed up on Bossaso beaches, Garowe Online reports.
Director General Abdiwaxid Mohamed Hersi who spoke to reporters said that the fish had washed up on the Bossaso's coast.
Mr. Hersi added that these incidents have happened all along the coast of Puntland.
Although Mr. Hersi said that these incidents are quite common, pathology and toxicology tests are the standard procedure into these incidents.
In January 2011 state officials in Arkansas found around 100,000 dead fish that washed up along the Arkansas river and in January of this year 20 tons of dead fish washed up in the beaches of Troms located in northern Norway.
