BAIDOA, Somalia Jul 25 2012 (Garowe Online) – Ethiopian
forces stationed in Baidoa arrested two top security officials in the region on
Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.
Ethiopian forces arrested Chief of Police in Bay and Bakool
region, Adan Dodishe, and Chief of Police for Baidoa, Adan Biid, on Wednesday.
Bay and Bakool government officials were unavailable to
comment on the arrests.
According to sources, the police officials were reportedly
arrested after they had released prisoners that were being held in Baidoa
central station.
Ethiopian forces did not release a statement on the arrests of
the two officials.
The officials are being held in Baidoa central station.
This is not the first arrest of a high ranking Somali security official
by the Ethiopian military; in May 2011 Ethiopian military officials arrested Col.
Barre Hiraale near the town of Dolow in Gedo region and most recently, Chief of
Luuq central station Diyaad Abdi Khalil was also arrested in Dolow.
