Somalia: Abdi Warsame Endorses Mohamud Noor for District 60B

Minneapolis, April 28th — Minneapolis City Council Member Abdi Warsame today announced his support of Mohamud Noor for Minnesota State Representative District 60B. 

“I am excited to announce my endorsement for Mohamud Noor. In my role as a City Council Member for the 6th Ward in Minneapolis, I spend a great deal of time working with residents of the City,” Said Abdi Warsame.

“They tell me of the challenges that they face from finding work; education, starting businesses, navigating complex bureaucracies, protecting the environment and the necessity of ensuring an end to racial disparities that tear apart our community.  

“I am proud to announce my support for Mohamud Noor because he is a candidate who is ready to tackle all of these challenges,” added Warsame. 

“Residents tell me that he understands their challenges and is ready to use that firsthand knowledge to create targeted solutions that will positively impact them in direct ways.”    

Since the last election (2014), Council Member Warsame applauded Noor for his ability to collaborate with him on issues and has been increasingly impressed by the growing consensus that Mr. Noor is truly the right representative for these times. 

“I cannot dispute that during my 2 years in office, Noor as a director of the Confederation of the Somali Community has been an excellent partner,” said Warsame. 

“He’s proven himself as extremely effective, extremely capable, and willing to work collaboratively to bring substantive progress.” 

The Council Member will join join the community at rally in support of Mohamud Noor this upcoming Sunday, May 1st 2016, from 5:30 – 7:30pm at the Brian Coyle Center, Cedar Riverside.
