“I condemn this reprehensible attack on the AMISOM base camp in Mogadishu which also hosts the UN Headquarters for Somalia. I commend AMISOM for their quick response and salute their bravery in bringing the situation under control. All UN staff are safe and sound. Our resolve to support the Somali people remains strong as we work together to build a peaceful Somalia.” SRSG Kay said.

SRSG Kay offers his sincere condolences to the families and friends of the AMISOM soldiers and civilians who have lost their lives. He hopes that those who have been injured make a swift recovery.
