Somalia: Puntland president woos Ethiopian business

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia-The President of Somalia’s Puntland Government Abdiweli Mohamed Ali is holding talks with Ethiopian business executives in the capital, Addis Ababa, Garowe Online reports.

Ali has so far met with the officials from TAF corporate, a corporation that brings together well reputed general contractor Tekleberhan Ambaye Construction P.L.C. , Sekota mining, Edna mall, Yufat aluminum, Yebel industrial and Edna High-Tech plc.

Ali was being accompanied by Commerce Minister Abdiweli Hirsi Abdulle (Indhoguran) on his meeting with TAF corporate president Seifu Ambaye.

The discussions centred on how TAF will gain a foothold in Puntland where it could provide infrastructure development solutions.

Ali asked tycoons in Ethiopia construction sector to explore opportunities in Puntland given over a decade-long stability in the northeastern state.

Earlier this week, Puntland President conferred with Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom on issues of mutual interest including trade ties and political situation.

Ethiopian forces are serving with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) as part of ongoing stabilization efforts in central and southern Somalia.
