Al Shabaab hideouts in southern Somalia raided

KISMAYO, Somalia-Somali government forces aided by airstrikes allegedly carried out by the US raided Al Shabaab positions in Lower Juba region, Garowe Online reports.
The anti-terror raid occurred in the village of Bulagadud, some 30km west of the southern port city of Kismayo.
Military sources said Thursday that Somali security forces dismantled the hideout, though no further details have emerged of ensuing gun-battle.
Residents reported that they heard heavy shelling and aerial strikes, officials said left at least 10 militants dead.
A Somali official claimed victory over Al Shabaab fighters in direct confrontations.
Using mine blasts, Al Shabaab later blew up a key bridge, Wirkooy to disrupt the surprise operation against their base.
On June 1, a wanted Al Shabaab official and mastermind of Garissa university terror attack Mohamed Dulyadayn was killed in Bulagadud.
Jubaland officials insist that the fewer bastions under militants control will be liberated very soon.
