Hormuud Salaam Foundation donates $100,000 to small traders affected by tragic Bakara market fire

MOGADISHU, Somalia - In response to a request from the Board of Traders of Bakara Market, which was responsible for raising funds to support those who lost their property in the fire that engulfed parts of the Bakara Market last month, Hormuud Salaam foundation handed over $100,000 to the committee today.

At the handover, the Foundation chairman Abdullahi Nur Osman expressed gratitude to the committee and the scholars for taking on the responsibility of raising funds for the small traders who lost their property in the Bakara Market fire. In addition, he noted that this donation is part of the Foundation's efforts to support the Somali community in times of difficulty.

"420 small traders of the most vulnerable, including tailors and individuals trading in small businesses, were affected by last month's tragic fire," said Hassan Mire (Dhiif), chairman of the Board of Traders of Bakara market. In addition, he stated that the affected individuals are now struggling to support their families.

According to Hassan, this donation is the first and largest that the committee has received since they began raising funds for the affected individuals.
Hormuud Salaam Foundation is the charity organization of Hormuud Telecom and Salaam Somali Bank.

It is always the first charity organization to respond when a disaster hits, and it always provides assistance to Somali people during times of difficulty, including droughts, floods, and other emergency situations.
