Iranian navy frees fishing vessel hijacked off Somalia coast

EL HUR, Somalia, November 28, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Iranian navy has freed a fishing vessel hijacked off the coast of Somalia over a week ago from Somali pirates in a rare raid on Saturday afternoon, Garowe Online reports.
According to on-the-ground sources, the fishing boat, FV Mohamed with 15-member crew was stormed by foreign commandos in helicopters.
Initial reports obtained by GO indicate that Iranian Special Forces conducted the operation off El Hur coastal village in central Somalia.
The raid marks the first by Iran navy in the Red Sea.
It’s yet unclear whether the few and far between operation resulted in casualties.
A gang of three seized the Iranian flagged vessel—but--owned by Pakistanis last week.
