Somali President begins Two-day visit to Sudan

KHARTOUM, Sudan - Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has arrived in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum on Wednesday afternoon for a two-day state visit, Garowe Online reports.

President Farmajo accompanied by the first lady, Ministers, Police Chief, and Federal lawmakers were warmly welcomed by his Sudanese Counterpart, Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir at the Khartoum International Airport.

At the airport, Farmajo inspected a guard of honor mounted by the Sudanese Armed Forces.

During his visit, Somali President will hold talks with Al-Bashir on ways to boost the bilateral relations between the two countries, including Security, education, trade, regional politics and other major issues

Farmajo's trip to Khartoum came following an official invitation he received from Sudanese President.

The President is scheduled to meet with the Somali community in Sudan. The visit comes days after Farmajo has returned from a two-day state visit to Jeddah, Saudi, where he met with King Salman Bin Abdulaziz.

The Country's Information Minister, Abdirahman Omar Osman, announcing that Somalia has received $50 million from Saudi as financial support.

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has visited countries allied with Saudi Arabia which cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, including Egypt as the Federal government stays neutral on the Gulf Crises.

The majority of the Federal member states of Somalia have disagreed government with its neutral stance on GCC rift and declared they are siding with Saudi-led Arab alliance against Qatar.
