Somalia: Al Shabaab liberated from villages under blockade

TIYEGLOW, Somalia Jan 24, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Somali government forces aided by African Union peacekeepers removed Al Qaeda-linked Al Shabaab militants from three villages in Bakool region of southwestern Somalia on Friday, Garowe Online reports.
 
Tiyeglow Mayor Mohamed Food Adde said that the allied forces liberated Bulo-Jadid, Bulo-Yusuf and El Jarmed from the terror group without tough resistance.
 
"The government will return the situation of liberated areas to normal," said Food Adde, the Mayor of Tiyeglow.
 
Despite severe setback on the front-line, Al Shabaab has long imposed blockade on the three villages.
 
The militant group didn't spoke on the seizure by allied forces of areas acquiesced to their rule.
 
Somalia's Federal government is battling Al Shabaab fighters in central and southern Somalia.
