MOGADISHU, Somalia Dec 9, 2014 (Garowe Online)-Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency has put former Al Shabaab journalist Hassan Hanafi Haji on display in Mogadishu on Tuesday, Garowe Online reports.

National Security Ministry spokesman Mohamed Yusuf Osman disclosed at media briefing at National Intelligence Headquarters in Mogadishu’s Shibis district where Haji was displayed that former terror journalist Haji was escorted from Nairobi to Mogadishu last week.

Osman thanked Kenyan intelligence for unwavering support that led to the arrest of former Al Shabaab journalist.

Hanafi is believed to have taken part in the assassination of many journalists, largely in volatile Mogadishu.

If convicted of killings, he could face death penalty, security sources reveal.

In early August, Kenya authorities captured Haji while he was looking for medical checkup in Eastleigh neighborhood.
