KISMAYO, Somalia, December 3, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Four people have been reported killed in accidental infighting involving Jubaland soldiers in the southern port city of Kismayo on Thursday, Garowe Online reports.

Jubaland officials down played the incident as ‘trivial’, saying resolution is underway to address the cause.

Three others were wounded in the deadly shootout, sources added.

The gunfight broke out after Kismayo police officers tried to intervene in land dispute. However, another group of Jubaland soldiers reportedly opened fire.

Three of the four victims in the skirmish have been identified as internally displaced people caught in the exchange of gunfire.

Land disputes are recurrent trends in rebuilding Kismayo.
