HARGEISA, Somalia, September 27, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Somaliland authorities arrested four musicians in ‘Horn Stars band’ at Hargeisa International Airport upon their return from Mogadishu on Sunday, Garowe Online reports.

Female singer, Khadro Sinimo has told BBC Somali Service that police forces are holding four fellow musicians-Hamda Queen, Niman Hilac, Mohamed Ahmed Bakal, and Abdirahman Aideed Abdi (Oday).

The artists attracted hundreds in concerts that focused on the country’s pulsating tunes in Mogadishu.

Deputy Internal Affairs Minister, Ahmed Adare blamed the musicians, who work for Information Ministry for mesmerizing crowds with songs detrimental to Somaliland’s bid for independence.

Having inspired by awakening in music industry, Somali artists vie for fans across the country.
