Somalia: Galmudug forces on alert ahead of state President's inauguration

ADADO, Somalia- The security agencies of Galmudug state have been urged to stay on high alert over possible terror attacks ahead of the new President's inauguration ceremony, Garowe Online reports.
Speaking at a press conference after his arrival to Adado town, the newly elected President Ahmed Dualle Geelle Haaf has called on the region's forces to be vigilant about al-Shabaab attacks during Ramadan.
Haaf has called on public to work closely with security agencies, to thwart any “incidents” that may occur in Adado, the state's interim capital, where the inauguration is set to take place next Monday.
"Many high-ranking guests are expected to come in Adado for the inauguration. I call on troops to beef up the security ahead of the event," said Galmudug President.
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo, ministers and Federal lawmakers are set to attend the inauguration of new Galmudug President which is scheduled to take place on May 29.
President Haaf was elected on May 3 by Galmudug state MPs following the resignation of former leader Abdikarim Hussein Guled in last February over health issues.
