​Somalia: Government supports Osoble's sacking, calls for election in 30 days

MOGADISHU, Somalia - Somali Federal Government has on Sunday made public its decision towards the political stalemate in HirShabelle, the country's youngest regional administration, Garowe Online reports.

A statement released by Somalia's Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation said, the Government has supported the sacking of HirShabelle President, Ali Abdullahi Osoble by the state MPs, describing it as "lawful".

The Minister of Interior, Abdi Farah Sa'ed "Juha" has called on HirShabelle Parliament to prepare an election for a new President within 30 days, starting from dismissal of Osoble dating back 14th August.

Meanwhile, Presidential candidates from Osoble's clan "Hawadle" will compete for the top seat of the administration, to conserve the power-share system (4.5) in the country, according to the statement.

Last week, HirShabelle has plagued into new political crises, that resulted from the firing of the state President, Ali Abdullahi Osoble, following a no confidence motion supported by over 168 lawmakers during voting.

Osoble, who has been in office as first President of the Federal state less than a year was sacked over power abuse, utter incompetence and lack of collaboration with Cabinet Ministers and the Parliament.

The Federal government has intervened the standoff situation, after President Osoble boycotted the Parliament decision, and blamed Mogadishu for plotting the no confidence motion against him.
