ADADO, Somalia- A delegate led by the Interior Minister of the Somali Federal government Abdi Farah Saed “Juha” arrived in Adado town, the interim capital of Galmudug on Tuesday, Garowe Online reports.

Upon arrival to Adado airport, the delegate was cordially received by the vice President of Galmudug Mohamed Hashi Arabey, state ministers, state parliamentarians, local elders and members of the civil society.

The delegation which included members from the Federal Parliament's Lower and Upper Houses is expected to observe the presidential election in the regional administration on Wednesday May 3.

The Interior Minister is a member of a mediation committee assigned to broker the peace and power-sharing talks in Mogadishu between Galmudug and Ahlu Sunna militia that ended in failure last week.

The election was postponed for three times, to end the rivalry between Galmudug state and the Ahlu Sunna group, and ink an agreement that will pave the way for more inclusive election in the region.

Last week, Galmudug election committee has set May 3 for the election of a new president following the resignation of former President Abdikarim Hussein Guled last February over health grounds.
