Somalia: One soldier dead as govt forces clash in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU, Somalia- At least one soldier has been killed and two others wounded after bitter clashes broke out among Somali Federal government troops in Mogadishu on Saturday, Garowe Online reports.
A soldier who was identified as Nur Ala Nur died in the bloody infighting erupted in Mogadishu's Dharkenley district.
A witness told GO that the troops fought each other over unknown grounds. Benadir regional administration and authorities in Dharkenley district are yet to comment publicly on the soldiers' clash, which was the latest in string of fatal incidents in the capital over the past few weeks.
The situation has returned to normal in the area of the confrontation, after local Police and district officials afterward intervened in the standoff that lasted about half an hour, according to residents.
Somalia's capital Mogadishu has witnessed such clashes between soldiers within Somali National Army (SNA) in the past days which inflicted casualties on the unarmed civilians.
The Minister of Public Works and Reconstruction Abbas Siraji was killed after bodyguards escorting Auditor General Nur Jimale Farah opened fire on his car near the Presidential Palace for mistaking him to be al-Shabaab in May 3.
