BELEDWEYNE, Somalia, December 21, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Somalia President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday arrived in Hiran regional capital of Beledweyne following deadly clan clashes, Garowe Online reports.

He is being accompanied by cabinet ministers including Interior Minister Abdirahman Odawaa, parliamentarians and new Hiran Governor Yusuf Ahmed Hagar Dabageed.

Mohamud is scheduled to hold talks to be centred around solution to renewed clan fighting and controversy triggered by a presidential decree on Sunday with community and traditional leaders.

A few hours before Presidential plane landing, Hiran clan elders strongly contested a decree authorizing Jowhar as state formation convention venue.

Middle Shabelle and Hiran regions have been gearing up for interim regional administration over the last eight months.

The assassination of late Mahdi Hussein Shiqal whose killing implicated Dabageed’s predecessor Abdifatah Hussein Afrah is also at top of President’s to-do-list in the course of his stay.

If agreed, interim administration pending will be headquartered in Hiran regional district of Buulo-Burte.
