Somalia: Roadside bomb leaves two Jubaland soldiers dead

KISMAYO, Somalia Jan 11, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Remotely-detonated roadside Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attack left two Jubaland intelligence officers dead in the southern port city of Kismayo on Saturday evening, Garowe Online reports.

Thunderous explosion could be heard in Kismayo’s Gulwade neighborhood, witnesses confirmed. A female bystander is also said to have sustained serious injuries.

Jubaland official who spoke with Garowe Online correspondent on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to comment on the incident  said, Al Shabaab militants are behind the IED attack on the troop transport vehicle.

The roadside bomb blast comes less than a week after Jubaland forces captured 100 terror suspects in security sweep.

Some of the terror suspects were seized along with explosive devices, officials revealed.
