MOGADISHU, Somalia August 19, 2014 (Garowe Online)-Somali security forces have captured 45 terror suspects in surprise sweep at Bakara market in Mogadishu according to officials on Tuesday, Garowe Online reports.

The commissioner of Hawlwadaag district Ahmednur Abdi Siyad told reporters that one of the suspects was seized along with pistol:”Two targets in Hawlwadaag saw this operation, security forces captured 45 persons and they will be brought to the justice,” said Siyad.

Intelligence officers and Police moved into the city’s largest market in an effort to counter terror operations carried out by Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab group.

Somali government soldiers were sighted near Jewelry mini market and Abdala shideye, two popular spots in Bakara market.

Among the formidable challenges facing Somalia Federal Government is insecurity as Al Shabaab is still capable of planned assassinations, suicide bombings and military-style ambushes in broad daylights in volatile Mogadishu.
