Cheering crowds welcomed Adan’s delegation to Barawa where Southwest State Administration is constitutionally headquartered.

The President provisionally works in Bay regional capital of Baidoa, and his trip is believed to be a harbinger for the relocation of government offices.

Adan told crowds that the regional government will be moving to Barawe in due course.

Somali government forces and African Union peacekeepers liberated Barawa from Al Shabaab militants in 2014.

The Presidential delegation will assess security and economic situations in the town during their stay.
