Trump: We Know Where Khamenei Is — An Easy Target, But No Kill Order Yet

WASHINGTON, June 18 – U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Washington knows "exactly" where Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is located, describing him as an "easy target" but asserting that no strike is currently planned, while warning that American patience is running out.

"We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now," Trump said in a post on social media platform Truth Social. "But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

In a follow-up post, Trump added: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”

His remarks came minutes after he claimed the United States had "complete and total control" of Iranian airspace, without offering further details.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed on Monday that additional American military assets have been deployed to the Middle East, which he and other senior officials described as a "defensive" measure amid speculation that U.S. forces could join Israel’s ongoing military operations against Iran.

A U.S. defense official told Anadolu Agency that Hegseth ordered the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group to reposition to the CENTCOM area of responsibility to reinforce "our defensive posture and safeguard American personnel."

Tensions in the region have escalated sharply since Friday, when Israel launched coordinated airstrikes on multiple sites inside Iran, including military and nuclear-related facilities. Tehran responded with missile attacks targeting Israeli positions.

According to Israeli officials, at least 24 people have been killed and hundreds injured in Iranian strikes. Iran, in turn, reported that at least 224 people have died and over 1,000 have been wounded in Israel’s assault.
