ADDIS ABABA - “I want to stay with good posture for the coming 10 years,” said a 108 years old man in Ethiopia.

Rejal Umer (Col.), who was born in 1911, is 108 years now. He looks younger than he is.
“No one believes me when I talk about my age,” he said to FBC.

“At one time, I was jailed for a week when I went to apply for a pension as officials at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs thought that I cheated over my age,” he said

The former soldier doesn’t know the number of his family members. “I don’t know the exact number of my sons and daughters except for the 12 oldest ones,” he said.

Rejal never eats cooked meat but only the raw one and performs regular exercise. He is also free from smoking and other addictions.

He was a soldier during the regime of Emperor Haile Selassie, in the Korean War and in the Ethiopian peacekeeping mission in Rwanda.

“My father died at the age of 130 and I want to live with good posture for the coming 10 years,” he said.
