Al-Mahaasin Foundation Launches Zakat Al-Fitr Distribution Project in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia — The Al-Mahaasin Foundation, in collaboration with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, is launching its Zakat al-Fitr distribution project for the year 1446H (2025).

This initiative is part of broader relief efforts aimed at improving the welfare of impoverished families and displaced persons across Somalia.

The project will benefit 57,000 poor families and internally displaced persons (IDPs), particularly in the Banadir region and select districts in the Lower Shabelle region. The goal is to alleviate the hardships faced by these vulnerable groups and bring joy to them during the blessed days of Eid al-Fitr.

“This project seeks to ease the financial burden on families and offer them a sense of happiness during Eid, a time of celebration and community,” said a spokesperson for the Al-Mahaasin Foundation.

The initiative aligns with the ongoing humanitarian work of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which has been supporting the Somali people through various projects addressing food security, healthcare, education, water, and other essential needs of vulnerable populations.

The Al-Mahaasin Foundation expressed its sincere gratitude to the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for their generous support and continued collaboration in implementing vital humanitarian projects in Somalia.
