Mortar lands near Villa Somalia

MUQDISHU- Meanwhile in Mogadishu’s Warta Nabadda district, a person has been confirmed dead in mortar shells thought to be fired by Al Shabaab fighters into a camp housing internally displaced families near Villa Somalia Presidential compound.

Four others, all from the same family were seriously wounded in the mortar bomb according to medics and witnesses.

The mortar attack has aimed at the heavily-fortified presidential complex.

Somali government officials have not commented on the incident, however militants are known for firing barrage of mortar rounds on to the presidential palace.
