Somali President meets with Ethiopian Prime Minister in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia held a meeting with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud on the sidelines of the 38th African Union (AU) Summit in Addis Ababa. The discussion took place on the second day of the summit, which is being held in the Ethiopian capital.

The 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union is expected to conclude today, with leaders from across the continent gathering to discuss critical issues facing Africa, including regional security, economic development, and climate change.

Abiy and Mahmoud’s conversation is seen as a key part of their ongoing diplomatic efforts to enhance bilateral relations and address shared challenges.
