Somalia: Al Shabaab Suspects, explosive devices seized in Kismayo

KISMAYO, Somalia Sept 14, 2014 (Garowe Online)-Jubaland security forces have captured two Al Shabaab suspects along with explosive devices and pistols in security sweep in the southern port city of Kismayo on Sunday, Garowe Online reports.

Security forces commander in charge of the surprise operation that saw Guulwade and Shaqaalaha neighborhoods told GO that the two are under investigation.

Ahead of the upcoming Jubaland peace-building conference, police regiments beefed up their presence across Kismayo where the gathering will take place on Tuesday.

Local Somali forces alongside Kenya Defence Force (KDF) flushed Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab militants out of Kismayo in 2012.
