​Somalia: Senator Farole sends condolence on the death of Minister Siraj

GAROWE, Puntland- Former Puntland President and Somalia’s Upper House Senator Abdirahman Mohamed Farole offered condolence to the Somali people following the death of Minister Abbas Abdullahi Siraj on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.

Late Siraj who was appointed as the Minister of Public works and Reconstruction last March and was a member of Somalia’s Federal Parliament was killed on Wednesday evening when his car was mistakenly shot by the security guards of the Auditor General near the Presidential Palace.

In an interview with Radio Garowe on Thursday, Senator Farole, called the incident as “inhumane” and condemned the killing of the upcoming young politician who grow up in Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya.

Farole sent his condolence to the family, relatives and Somali people at large for the death of Minister Siraj.

“I want to offer my sincere condolence on the cruel killing of lawmaker Siraj, who was also Federal Minister of Public Works and Reconstruction. I also extend my thoughts and prayers to the family, relatives, Federal Parliament and Federal government,” added Farole.

Speaking about late Siraj, Senator Farole noted that he heard good things about him, that he is upcoming young politician, educated and competent, and was a role model for the young generation.

Farole also prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow mercy on late Minister and lawmaker Siraj.
