Ilhan Omar Responds to Trump’s Move to End TPS for Somali Immigrants

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov 22 – U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar strongly reacted on Friday to President Donald Trump’s announcement to end the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program that has shielded Somali immigrants in Minnesota from deportation.

Omar, a Somali-American Democrat representing Minnesota, told reporters: “Most of us Somali Americans are citizens; the policy change will not affect us.”
