KAMPALA, Uganda - A few days after holding a closed-door meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the Ugandan People's Defence Forces (UPDF) boss Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sent a warning to warring Sudanese leaders, following an armed conflict in the country.

Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been at loggerheads for the last two years, leading to mass displacement of people in the prolonged conflict which has also left thousands of civilians and security officers dead.

During the meeting in Addis Ababa, Muhoozi termed the discussions between him and Ahmed as 'informative', describing the embattled Ethiopian leader as the 'most brilliant and bold leaders' in the African continent.

"This morning it was my great honour to meet the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Abiy Ahmed Ali. As usual, the discussions were very informative and enriching. H.E. Abiy is one of the most brilliant and bold leaders in Africa today. I thank him for receiving our delegation," he said.

And through his series of tweets, the conflict in Sudan and the one in DR Congo could have been the main subject after he warned 'white mercenaries' in DR Congo, adding that the bloodshed in Sudan must come to an end.

"The Nonsense in Sudan will soon come to an end! If those boys in Khartoum don't know what war is they will learn," said Muhoozi, who is the likely successor of his father, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda.

This comes after the European Union imposed sanctions on senior leaders from the Sudan Armed Forces and those allied to the Rapid Support Forces over the prolonged humanitarian conflict in the northern African country which has impacted negatively thousands of people.

Among those affected by the latest sanctions from SAF include Lt. General Mohamed Ali Sabir and Salah Abdallah Mohamed. The RSF had Major General Osman Mohamed and Tijan Karshom, the Governor of West Darfur, on the blacklist.
