A Police official has confirmed to GO that the blast has resulted from an explosives-laden wheelbarrow, pushing by suspected militant trying who was a would-be suicide bomber targeting the Police HQ.
The security forces have fended off the bomber after stopping him outside before he reached the entrance of the police station. Officials and soldiers were present in the compound during the blast.
The officer said the explosion has killed only the bomber, with no casualties on the security personnel and nearby civilians. The Troops were put on high alert following the incident, according to the sources.
