GAROWE, Somalia-Puntland traditional leaders have shared the same views as Puntland government on return to traditional 4.5 power sharing formula, Garowe Online reports.

The clan elders met at Puntland Development Research Center (PDRC) to show solidarity with government in its resistance to election proposal supported by international donors.

Representatives from International Community are expected to arrive in Puntland on Tuesday for key talks on new electoral proposal.

Foreign diplomats will raise objection to the traditional quota with Puntland government officials, academics and intellectuals and civil society.

Garowe Online has learned that traditional leaders voiced political concerns over the adopted proposal in which Lower House representation will be based on 4.5 and Upper House on Federal Member States and interim regional administrations.

Intense deliberations have got underway in the capital, Garowe where officials, former politicians and civil society activists are discussing a united front.

A delegation led by President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali has expressed uneasiness on any process ushering in 4.5 quota in Mogadishu.
