GAROWE, Puntland- The state Parliament of Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland, has voted to approve the new cabinet appointed by the state President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali "Gaas", Garowe Online reports.

Sixty-four state lawmakers have attended Thursday's parliament session in Garowe and the vote by show of hands suggested a large majority approved the 53-member cabinet after they were sworn-in on Tuesday.

Subsequently, 61 MPs voted in favour of the council of ministers, while 3 abstained. President Ali who also was in attendance, has thanked for the approval, and urged the ministers to work on the State’s goals.

The new lineup is dominated by large number of previous ministers in the cabinet that was ousted by Puntland Parliament last Month in a vote of no confidence motion after disagreement with President.

Only three ministers - Livestock, Civil Aviation and Women's affairs are new in Ali's cabinet.
