Jubba River floods in southern Somalia

KISMAYO, Somalia, October 22, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Jubba river flooded several villages in Middle Jubba region of southern Somalia on Thursday, Garowe Online reports.

Residents told the media that rainwaters swept away a variety of plantations, crop stores and pumping machines on floodplains of the river.

On Monday, four children died from heavy storm in Malmakus, vicinity near Middle Jubba region town of Saakow.

Residents are worried about the devastating effects of rains as international agencies are warning of major blow to fragile humanitarian gains.

Meanwhile, in Middle Shabelle regional district of Mahaday, Shabelle River began overflowing banks.
