GEDO, Somalia- At least 4 people reported killed from the opposing sides and over 10 wounded in Baladhawo on Monday after clashes erupted between soldiers loyal to Jubaland’s Minister of Security and armed clan militia, Garowe online reports.

The armed confrontation began as Jubaland Administration planned to do reform on local districts administration in Gedo region. Local reports said that some clans were angered by the Government’s decision.

The clashes came one day after a blast targeting government troops hit the town, leaving at least two soldiers dead and four others wounded.

The fresh clashes between the sides resulted in halting local business trades, and harming civilians bystanders, witnesses said.

It is not the first time that Jubaland  Administration attempted to change local districts administration of Gedo region and got rejected by opposition local clans.
