Somalia: Grenade explosion kills three in Afgooye

AFGOOYE, Somalia-At least three people have been reported killed and four others were wounded after assailants targeted tax collectors in grenade attack in Afgooye town of southern Somalia on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.

A security officer is among those killed in the grenade explosion, security officials and medics said. 

The broad daylight attack occurred at a busy livestock market in the small town near Mogadishu. 

Somali government officials have yet to comment on the grenade attack. 

Al Shabaab previously claimed credit for a string of suicide attacks and targeted killings in central and southern Somalia.  

Military court has sped up execution of convicted Al Shabaab members over the last week.
