ADADO, Somalia- More than 50 MPs of Galmudug Parliament have filed no confidence motion against the President Abdikarim Husain Guled on Sunday, accusing him of poor leadership, Garowe Online reports.

Shairf Mohamed Tahlil, a member of the state Parliament, said a majority from the Parliament have agreed to submit the no confidence motion to the Parliament Speaker Ali Ga’al Asir.

“Incompetence, absence from the region for long period and working for his personal gains have led more than 50 MPs to sign the motion,” said Tahlil.

He said that President Guled and Parliament Speaker Asir have failed miserably to carry out their responsibilities to serve their region and people.

The Parliament didn’t conduct any sessions since October following suspension by the Speaker due o the ongoing Lower and Upper Houses of Federal Parliament in the region, he added.

However, Asir has claimed the Parliament was in recess and said the MPs can’t file the motion against the state leadership, including the President Guled.

Yesterday, state’s presidential guards have blocked Galmudug MPs from entering the Parliament Hall to start the session following reports of tabling a motion against the President Guled, who is a close ally to the caretaker Somali President Hasan Shaikh Mahmoud.
