Somalia President in India for key summit

NEW DELHI, India, October 28, 2015 (Garowe Online)-Federal Government of Somalia’s President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in New Delhi for third India-Africa partnership forum on Wednesday, Garowe Online reports.

Somali Foreign Affairs Minister Abdisalan Omar Hadliye said, the summit will focus on electrification and exploitation of natural resources, two key priority sectors in the recovering East African Nation.

President Mohamud is poised to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other African leaders over the course of India-Africa forum summit.

Indian officials and Somali diplomats received Mohamud’s delegation at New Delhi airport.

Somalia is eyeing strategic cooperation with some of Asia’s largest economies in oil industry.
