Somalia’s PM in France for Paris Peace Forum

PARIS, France - A high-level delegation led by the Prime Minister of Somalia, Hassan Ali Khaire has arrived in Paris, French capital on Monday, November 11, Garowe Online reports.

The premier is attending the annual Paris peace forum which will be held from 11 to 13 November 2019, at the Grande Halle de La Villette, according to a statement released by the PM’s office.

The Somali delegation left Mogadishu for Paris on Sunday.

The second Paris Peace Forum is part of the momentum launched by French President, Emmanuel Macron, to reaffirm the importance of multilateralism and collective action in facing current challenges.

The meeting is designed to be an incubator to drive global governance solutions centered around six themes: peace and security, environment, development, new technologies, the inclusive economy, culture, and education.

Heads of State and Government, as well as many leaders from international organizations, are participating in the Paris Peace Forum to seek concrete global governance solutions.

After the forum, PM Khaire will travel to Brussels, the European Union Headquarters to discuss Somalia’s national development agenda and our debt relief process with EU member state leaders.
