Eritrean President on a 3-day visit to UAE

ABU DHABI, UAE - His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Wednesday, received Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki.

They discussed ties of friendship and cooperation as well as regional and international issues of common interest.

Shaikh Mohammad and Afwerki explored avenues and opportunities of cooperation in economic, investment and development spheres and future prospects that serve the common interests of both nations and peoples.

Shaikh Mohammad lauded the historical “Jeddah Peace Accord” signed recently by Eritrea and Ethiopia, brokered by Saudi Arabia. He praised the efforts of King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia and his role in establishing security, peace, and stability in the Horn of Africa.

He reiterated that the UAE supports every effort that aims to solve conflicts between countries peacefully and contribute to achieving peace and stability in the region and entire world.

"President Isaias Afwerki is on a 3-day working visit to Abu Dhabi & held extensive talks on investment, economic cooperation ties & regional issues of common concern with Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Mansour & other officials," said Eritrean Information minister, Yemane G. Meskel.

The Eritrean leader lauded Shaikh Mohammad’s efforts and initiatives for the promotion of peace and entrenching security and stability.
